Each year, the Board of Governors defines priority objectives for IATA. These priorities are aligned with IATA's mission and address current industry challenges to best support our members success. Below are the priorities set by the board for 2023.
Industry Digital Transformation
- Support a seamless customer journey with digital identities for passengers and industry partners
- Design the future industry financial products and services that meet evolving customer needs
- Meet traveler expectations by supporting airlines' move toward 100% Offers & Orders
Operations, Safety & Security
- Progress implementation of Risk-Based IOSA
- Address risks relating to the carriage of dangerous goods
- Strengthen airlines capacity to address cyber security risk and emerging regulation with respect to aircraft operations
Environment, Sustainability and Social Responsibility
- Develop a roadmap and tracking tools to net zero carbon emissions by 2050
- Facilitate the transition to Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for member airlines
- Progress gender diversity in aviation through the 25by2025 initiative
A Strong Association
- Ensure the strong commercial performance of IATA’s products and services to fund IATA’s activities
- Deliver efficient industry settlement services with high levels of customer satisfaction
- Grow IATA as the trusted source of industry data, including traffic, safety, operations and sustainability
